Liturgically we enter and celebrate the story of the Magi (Matt 2:1-12) at the close of the Christmas season. In this webinar, Carol Barry invites us to pause, and to ponder anew the wisdom this sacred story holds for our Advent journey. To consider with wonder the rich insights offered in the Magi’s journey by starlight as we too “set out” in hope; seeking the grace to recognize the ‘halting places’ of Emmanuel in the story of our own lives, this Christmas of 2020.

Carol Barry is a woman who has been involved in lay ministry for over 40 years; dovetailing her work and ministry as a lecturer in Biblical Spirituality and Foundational Theology with her lifelong vocation as a retreat director.Whilst working primarily in Ireland, she has also directed retreats in Africa, Canada, England, New Zealand and in the United States. Alongside her background in theology and biblical studies, Carol in her ministry also draws on her training and experience in the field of Bibliodrama, Deep Talk-Soul Stories, and Spiritual Accompaniment.

Carol has a special concern for enabling participants on her Retreats and Courses to look for and to recognize the voice, and the movement of God in their own life stories; particularly in the light of the guiding texts of Sacred Scripture, and that of our natural world.
