Webinar: Excavating the ‘Feminine Genius’

| $10Pope Saint John Paul II has described women as in possession of a special “feminine genius” that is constituted of receptivity, generosity, sensitivity, and maternity, including spiritual maternity. In this webinar, I want to examine what St. Teresa of Avila’s The Way of Perfection can contribute to our understanding of femininity and to concerns today about the role of women in the Church.

Dr. Isis Leslie is a political theorist who has also pursued graduate study in the History of Christianity at the University of Notre Dame. Isis earned her Ph.D. in political science with a concentration in political theory from Rutgers University. She has taught political theory at Texas Tech University, Georgetown University, and the George Washington University. She has also worked as a consultant for the American Political Science Association. Isis is currently discerning entering the Carmel in Savannah, Georgia.
