Leopold Glueckert, OCarm, PhD is a member of the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary based in Darien, Illinois. A noted Carmelite historian, Fr. Glueckert received his PhD from Loyola University of Chicago. He taught Ecclesiastical History and courses on Carmelite Spirituality at the Washington Theological Union from 2005 until the Union closed in 2012. He is the author of Desert Springs in the City: A Concise History of the Carmelites which was published in 2012. He has also written books and articles on Titus Brandsma, St. Therese of Lisieux, and other topics of interest to the Carmelite community. He is a member of the American Historical Association and the American Catholic Historical Association.
