One of the main tenets of our Carmelite Rule is to meditate on the law of the Lord day and night, always being watchful in prayer. This instruction has always spoken deeply to me as it brings together my longing for God and a love for God’s Word, revealed in scripture and interpreted in the writings of our Carmelite forebears and contemporary texts. As I live out this calling in the Carmelite Monastery of Baltimore, I am grateful and delighted with how I can use the experiences of my former life: work as an economist with the German government, time with the United Nations in Switzerland, and (last but not least) volunteering with the Franciscan Youth Center in East Baltimore.

I have served my community in different capacities and am currently very involved in vocation ministry. Since April 2016 I am serving on the CCA Leadership Team.
