This webinar explores Teresa of Avila’s approach to the Carmelite reform of the 16th century, in order to increase our appreciation for the practical aspects of Carmelite governance which were so important to Teresa. Her reform is examined through the lens of modern-day change management theory and practice in four main areas: 1) Leadership and Purpose, 2) Governance and Usefulness, 3) Attitudes, Feelings and Resistance and 4) Social Support.

Dr. Kristina Olsen is Lead Change Manager for the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Spirituality (CUA), a DBA in Business Administration (U. of Md.), an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Music. She worked in telecommunications research and development (Bell Labs) for over 15 years. Dr. Olsen has been a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) for 7 years.
